Memo: COVID-19
We understand this is an incredibly difficult time for both our residence and their families to be apart due to COVID-19 prevention and control measures. These measures, including essential visitor restrictions, are critical in protecting the health of our residents/tenants who are the most vulnerable to COVID-19.
At this time, in order to protect our residents and staff we are forced to suspend all ‘in person’ social visits until December 13, 2020. We want to ensure you that at present there are no signs of any infection among residents or staff at The Residence at Morgan Heights.
The decision to suspend the social visits was made after extensive discussion with and at the direction of public health as one of our staff members, who was already off duty for a number of days, has tested positive for COVID-19. We are fully supporting the affected staff member to stay home and quarantine. We are monitoring all residents for symptoms and all staff who may have had contact with the affected staff member were immediately sent home with pay to self-isolate. All the neighbourhoods are completely isolated within our facility with no staff working outside of their assigned neighbourhood. We are constantly staying in touch with public health and we will resume the visits sooner if public health advises us to do so.
Face time visits are a more secure way to connect with your loved one and should be utilised. You can also continue to stay connected with your loved one by phone, e-mail and letter.
The health and safety of our residents and staff are our first priority. We appreciate your cooperation with our temporary essential visitor restrictions.
Sincerely,
Amrinder Gill
Administrator
