Updates

Memo: December 21, 2020

We are resuming our indoor visits with ONE (designated) adult family member and will be using the 2nd floor TV lounge and the second floor lounge adjacent to the 27th Avenue entrance to the building.

Access to the designated visiting areas will be provided by the assisting staff member/s through the black gate at the top of the driveway.

We strictly adhere to the one designated visitor policy as directed by the Provincial Health Officer.  We strongly encourage all families to comply with the one designated visitor policy and the designated visitor must complete self-screening every time before visiting their loved one.

We strongly recommend the self-screening at least two days ahead of your scheduled visit.  If you find any of the symptoms mentioned - Headache, fever, rash, diarrhea, runny nose, cough, sore throat, shortness of breath - Please inform the visitation scheduler to cancel the visit and contact 811 to get further directions.

If there is a need to change the designated visitor:

- Please provide two weeks notice to the scheduler.

- The future designated visitor must self-screen for any of the above mentioned symptoms in those two weeks.

-The present designated visitor may continue to visit during the two week notice period.

- In exceptional circumstances the two week notice may be revisited.

In order to maintain our safety measures, we expect the following from the visiting family member:

- Visitor must follow the direction provided by the assisting staff members.

- Visitor must wear a medical grade facemask that meets ASTM International and ISO (or equivalent) performance requirements for bacterial/particulate filtration efficiency. If you do not have one, one will be provided to you.

- Visitor must leave within assigned visiting time

- Touching or hugging the resident during your visit is strictly prohibited.  Any such attempt will result in the immediate end of the visit with the possibility of cancellation of all future visits.

- Visitor must follow all recommended safety measures with the recommended respiratory etiquette at all times.

- Assisting staff member/s will actively monitor the visits and at any time they feel there is any risk to the safety of the staff, resident or family member they will have the full authority to stop the proceedings immediately and ensure the safety of the resident, staff and visitor.
